Summary: Based on the parable of The Prodigal Son, the story takes place in the Holy Land in the year 70 B.C.A wealthy farmer, Micah, is smitten by the sight of Samarra, the High Priestess of Asarte. Her beauty and sheer sensuality are so wondrous, so overpowering, that Micah forsakes his family and religion to follow this sensuous siren to Damascus. Once in Syria, Micah's pursuit of The Priestess costs him not only his fortune, but also his freedom. Torn between his faith in God and his love for Samarra, Micah is tortured by the greatest temptation man has ever known. Cf. videodisc jacket
